Freedom 251, the world’s cheapest smartphone was launched on 17th February in India for Just Rs. 251($3.7). The smartphone is having very good specs for this much cheap price. Even government is claiming how is this even possible to launch such a phone for just Rs. 251. We have already covered about some controversies involved in this phone. There were reports on how Twitterati reacted on this phone. Many people found the website not to be working properly. We have also put it against some smartphone with similar specs but all of those were priced around Rs. 35-00-4000 in India. Now according to a report from Indian newspaper Dainik Bhasker, the company has got very huge amount of money with the prior booking of this phone. The company has booked a total of 2.5 million numbers of phones & with this they have received Rs. 75 Crores .
Company ‘s MD Mr. Mohit Goyal said,” We have got order of 2.5 Million no. of smartphones. We will start delivering these product in the April last” . Some other official also confirmed that they have called Income Tax department to show them some documents & Also claimed about the number of bookings.
According to the corporate affairs department of Govt. Of India, the company was formed just 4 months ago.
