Today Apple insider has reported via KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that iPhone 2017 lineup may come with major design and display overhaul. According to the reports, iPhone 7S Plus is coming with a 5.8-inch OLED display & curved Glass casing in 2017. The analysts also claims that the 5.8-inch model will pak new features like wireless charging, and Iris Scanners that are available on flagships from Android and Windows 10 platforms.
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo:
We expect the 2017 new iPhone model to adopt a structural design similar to that of iPhone 4/ 4s, meaning it will be equipped with glass on both the front and back sides, and a metal frame surrounded the edges. The difference is that the new model will likely come with a curved screen and curved glass casing, with other important features including a 5.8-inch AMOLED display, wireless charging, and more biometric recognitions (facial or iris). Given the curved design, the new model may look smaller than an existing 5.5-inch iPhone.
Kuo also has mentioned some scenarios for the display production. According to the kuo if suppliers for AMOLED displays are sufficient than Apple Would launch 5.8-inch AMOLED iPhone model as a replacement for the current 5.5-inch TFT-LCD model. But if demand is large and suppliers are unable to catch with demand than Apple Will launch this 5.7-inch model as a top-end add-on to the 2017 iPhone line.
