Nexus devices are now getting the July Android security patch

Google has started pushing the Android Security Patches fir the month of July to the Nexus devices.

The latest July security patch brings fixes fir several critical issues, including issues in Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability in libpng, Mediaserver, sockets and Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Mediaserver and much more.

List of the devices that are getting the update is given below,

  • Nexus 5 (MOB30P)
  • Nexus 5X (MTC19Z)
  • Nexus 6 (MMB30K and MOB30O)
  • Nexus 6P (MTC19X)
  • Nexus 7 2013 WiFi and LTE (MOB30P)
  • Nexus 9 WiFi and LTE (MOB30P)
  • Nexus Player (MOB30P)

Following was  one of the most serious issue this month,

The most severe issue is a Critical security vulnerability that could enable remote code execution on an affected device through multiple methods such as email, web browsing, and MMS when processing media files.”
