Samsung has a victory for patent appeal against Apple


Samsung has already been in lots of fight with Apple for patent issues & have already paid so much money as fine to Apple. But now the case is different this time. This time Samsung has a win over Apple in a patent dispute in a court in USA. The appeal was filed by Apple for some patent issue with Samsung but the US court has just overturned Apple’s appeal in favor of Samsung. The issue was of $120 Million against Samsung. The court found that Samsung have not infringed any patents related to Apple.

‘In the appeal it was reported that Samsung was accused of infringing on Apple’s ‘quick links’ patent and two more patents. The patents infringement case including the ‘Quick Links’ and two other patents covering the iPhone’s slide-to-unlock and auto-correct features were found to be invalid by the court.

Samsung’s spokesperson said, “Today’s decision is a win for consumer choice and puts competition back where it belongs – in the marketplace, not in the courtroom” while Apple spokesperson denied to comment on this.

the case was actually from May 2014 where Samsung had to pay 4119.6 Million to Apple. A federal court in San Jose, California ordered Samsung to pay $119.6 Million to Apple. But the latest court said that Samsung didn’t use the same technology in their device.

Patent lawyer Bradley Hulbert said, “A clear signal that Apple is not invincible and that alternative operating systems are here to stay. The marketing and psychological benefits for Samsung are huge
